The associates and providers at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital (PMCH) strive to provide safe high-qualify care to your child. Unfortunately, preventable harm still happens. We attempt each day to decrease how often these events happen. We have taken the following steps to assist us in this work:
- Creating a safety culture that focuses on the prevention of harm.
- Involvement in a national group of children’s hospitals to learn and improve.
- Review all events to learn ways to decrease hospital acquired injuries and events.
We want our patients and families to be aware of our rate of hospital acquired events. We monitor:
- Blood stream infections for oncology patients who have a central line.
- Patient falls that result in serious injury.
- Serious pressure related skin breakdown.
If you have questions about this data or your child’s care, please ask a member of your healthcare team.
