Most conditions are treated with outpatient services. Assessment and emergent needs drive the personalized treatment plan. Our programs are “open” meaning you may start at any time and complete the program at a pace that meets each patient’s clinical need, not by a set length of time. The age ranges listed below are approximate. Our patients are referred to the most clinically appropriate program:
Inpatient hospitalization — for ages 6-18 years of age, one of five mental health inpatient units in Indiana for children.
Partial hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs – dual diagnosis and mental health services segmented by age group: 10-12, 13-18, and 18-25*.
Prime for Life – a Drug and Alcohol Education Program for Behavioral Change for ages 13-18 years of age.
Therapeutic Day School Program – for ages 6-18 years of age
Family involvement is also an integral part of every youth program in order to provide education and support for parents and siblings.
Psychiatric consultation is available and may be of benefit for certain medication considerations.
All programs require either a new patient assessment (to be completed by St. Vincent staff) or an internal referral from another Stress Center program. At your assessment, our patient account representative will discuss your healthcare coverage and specific financial arrangements. We generally accept most health insurance coverage plans. Contact the member services phone number listed on your insurance card to verify mental health benefits.
Our highly-qualified mental health professionals provide many types of multi-disciplinary services personalized for the needs of each child. Each St. Vincent Stress Center Youth Service program has a dedicated counselor who assists with treatment planning and goal setting. Our Psychiatrists are board-certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In this area of medicine, it is very common to have an initial assessment with a licensed social worker or counselor before services are referred to the psychiatrist.
